Security Manager® (CISM®) designation, a groundbreaking credential earned by 6,500 professionals since it was
established in 2002.
The Information Systems Audit and Control Association® (ISACA®) is the only worldwide organization which
provides up-to-date information for professionals in the converging disciplines of auditing, data processing,
accounting, data security and quality assurance. ISACA® knows how essential professional networking, standards,
research, certification, continuing education and publications are in establishing and building professions.
That's why both the not-for-profit research and funding arm of the organization, IT Governance Institute®
(ITGI®), and the member services arm of ISACA® are devoted to nurturing and directing the changing environment
of professionals involved with the audit and control of computer based systems.
History
The Information Systems Audit and Control Association® (ISACA®) was established in 1969 as the EDP Auditors
Association (EDPAA). Since 1969, the organization has grown internationally to comprise over 170 chapters
with 65,000 members in 140 countries. Originally formed to address control issues within data processing,
ISACA now provides education and professional certification (Certified Information Systems Auditor™ - CISA®),
(Certified Information System Manager® - CISM®) conducts research, develops and publishes professional standards
and provides support to individuals and companies interested in the control of the ever-expanding world of
information technology.
The Denver Chapter
The Denver Chapter of ISACA® (formerly EDPAA) was founded in June 1976 with just a handful of members. Today,
the Denver chapter with over 500 members, is one of the largest chapters within the Southwestern Region. The
Denver Chapter contributes to the international organization with financial support and periodic hosting of
the International Conference, most recently in July 1999.
The Denver Chapter Mission
The Denver Chapter of ISACA® is a non-profit organization dedicated to the continued development and enhancement
of the information systems audit and control profession by providing benefits to its members and to the
professional community-at-large.
